Rev Janet Aspey joins the team at Castle Community Church ….

1st September 2022

On 1st September 2022, Rev Janet Aspey joined the Ministerial Team at Castle Community Church.

Rev Janet is also the Mid Cheshire Circuit of the Methodist Church Superintendent Minister.

Rev Janet writes:

My roots are in Pickering, North Yorkshire and although I have lived in several places since the age of 10, still consider myself to be a ‘Yorkshire lass’.

I’ve lived in Luton, Mobberley, and Preston and then after marrying Malcolm moved to the Wigan area until entering full time ministry.

We have 3 grown up children and 5 grandchildren.

I have held various jobs since leaving school, firstly as a bank clerk, then running my own secretarial and word processing business, child minding, being a lecturer in information technology in further education and a school administrator and bursar.

My family is steeped in Methodism going back several generations and my initial call to preach came when I was 17 and a call to ordained ministry in my late 30s.

I trained at Hartley Victoria College and moved to my first appointment in 2001, in Moston, North Manchester.

Since 2006 I have been a Superintendent Minister in Prestwich and Radcliffe, Staffordshire Moorlands and Altrincham before moving to Northwich this year.

I enjoy spending time with my family, going to Spain and North Wales and my main hobbies are photography and singing – when I have the time.

I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for us, here in Mid Cheshire in worship and in serving our communities and look forward to meeting you. Janet.

The members and congregation at Castle Community Church look forward to welcoming Rev Janet into their community.
